Pennsylvania Special Olympics at Villanova

November 6 -  Members of our Council volunteered once again at the Fall Festival for the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania.  After missing last year due to COVID, it was wonderful to get back and volunteer at the Special Olympics Fall Festival held at Villanova University.  We were placed in the Dougherty Dining Hall where we served at several different serving stations.  We served lunch to 1,000 + Special Olympic athletes, coaches, families and volunteers.  It was a wonderful day for both the athletes as well as the volunteers.  I think it is safe to say that we were as tired as the athletes at the end of our shifts.  The Food Staff at Dougherty was very appreciative of our hard work and remembered us from prior years. After our shift we were able to grab some grub and take in some of the Bocce Ball competition at the Finneran Pavilion.  The Special Olympics will once again be holding their Polar Plunge at Citizens Bank Park on January 29th, 2022 and in Easton on February 19th, 2022. Anyone interested?
